Death Piggy - Love War ep (1984)


First vinyl record released by Richmond, VA, hardcore punk band fronted by Dave Brockie (RIP), before he and the other members went on to form GWAR.  Only 750 copies pressed.



I am the original owner.  I bought this record directly from Dave Brockie himself at a Christmas Day show in 1984.  He was tabling before the show.  My crummy band was scheduled to open, but our guitar player quit just days before the show, so we had to cancel.  At the show, Dave dyed his hair in rainbow colors and, as he sweated during the show, the many colors ran down his face and shirt.  Even though I didn't get to perform, it was a great show.  

My friends and I loved this record and it shows.  It's definitely been played many times, although not in a long, long time until recently.

Condition...

Media: Very Good (VG)
— Surface noise evident upon playing, mostly between songs, and does not overpower the music.  Mostly heard during quiet passages like the "G.O.D. Spells God" opening.  Side 2 is cleaner.  Somehow, there's a fingerprint on each side of vinyl, although not effecting playback.

Sleeve: Very Good Plus (VG+)
— Cover very clean, minor crinkling.

Insert with comic, lyrics, and credits: Very Good (VG)
— One fold seam is split, otherwise clean and intact.
