Hello - Welcome to my vinyl Auction/BUY IT NOW/Single or Job-lot Listing

**The first grade is for the media (the vinyl) and the second is for the sleeve. (E.g., VG VG+) Vinyl: There are likely to be scuffs, background noise, marks, light scratches, and occasional clicks. However, there is nothing close to being jacked up or unplayable. LP Covers /Inner Sleeves: Sleeves may have seam splits, dings, corner bends, ring wear and the like, but any major flaw (should there be any) will be outlined in the description. Printed inner sleeves may have seam splits, fraying, rips, and bends. Age plays a huge part in the condition of a record. My vinyl listings are almost always comprised of 40+ year-old records, which is worth bearing in mind**

*The deck I use for playtesting is an Audio-Technica LP120XUSB-B*

The Associates - Sulk (Germany, 1982, BB BEG K 58461, Import, LP) VG+ VG+

The Cure - Seventeen Seconds (US, 1988, Elektra 60784-1, Reissue, LP) VG VG

Solid play copy. Some background noise, and a few crackles here and there, but no deep scratches or jumps/skipping. The sleeve shows wear (see photos close-up) Spine is not great in places, worn

Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia (UK, 1980, Cherry Red, Cherry (12, (13)) Import, 12" Single) VG++ VG+

Vinyl has 'made in France' above the label rim but is a UK press. Record is clean

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy (1985, US, Reprise, Bianco Y Negro 9 1-25383, Specialty Press, LP) VG+ VG+

Very nice copy. The vinyl has smudges and light marks but nothing sinister. Plays well without jumps/skips or crackles and intrusive pops - occasional background noise. The sleeve is solid, with some corner wear and general ageing. The spine is good, with slight wear. The original inner sleeve has a small split at the bottom, again nothing severe. No writing on the sleeve or inner - labels clean

John Foxx - John Foxx (Canada, 1981, Metal Beat META 1101, Compilation, Quality Pressing, LP) VG+ VG+

Kraftwerk - The Man Machine (Canada, 1978, Capitol Records SW-11728, LP) VG VG

Spine shows title as The Man-Machine, plain inner sleeve

New Order - Peel Sessions (UK, 1986, Strange Fruit, SFPS001, 12" 45RPM, EP, Pinnacle Limited Pressing, Import) VG+ VG+

Solid copy all round. Minor scuffing on the vinyl, limited wear to the textured sleeve, and a little ageing

New Order - Brotherhood (US, 1986, Qwest Records 2511, SRC Press, LP) VG+ VG+

Printed inner - has seam splits. Good copy all round

New Order - Blue Monday (US, 1985, Qwest, 20032, Reissue. 12" Single) VG VG

Slightly different reissue: This copy has $4.98 on the spine, indicating maxi single. Good play copy.

New Order - Confusion (US, 1983, Streetwise, SWRL2213, Factory NY, Factory 9, 12" Single) VG VG

New Order - Thieves Like Us (UK, 1984, Factory 103, 12" Single, Import) VG VG

The Police - Outlandos d'Amour (UK, 1978, A&M, AMLH 68502, Import) VG+ VG Pressed with a plain inner sleeve - solid copy

Ramones - Rocket to Russia (Portugal,1977, Sire 6042/NP, Import, LP) VG+ VG+ Very nice copy. A couple of scuffs and two light scratches. It plays well with no skips/jumps/pops. The sleeve is very good - tight corners with just minor wear - the main picture is great, with a bit of spine wear but still readable. Labels clean; no writing on sleeves/labels. It has a faded "made in Portugal" sticker on the back of the sleeve. Plain inner sleeve

Roxy Music - Manifesto (US, 1979, ATCO SD38-114, PRC Richmond Press, Promo, LP) VG VG

Has gold 'promotional copy - not for sale' printed on front. Promo ATCO sticker on the back of the sleeve. Plain inner

Roxy Music - Flesh and Blood (US, 1980, ATCO SD 32-102, Monarch Press, Promo, LP) VG G

Vinyl is solid. Has gold 'promotional copy - not for sale' printed on front. Promo ATCO sticker on the back of the sleeve. Printed inner. The sleeve has what looks like water-type damage on the back and some on the front. It's not all over the cover, it's right on the side and more noticeable on the back. Other marks and sticker residue. No rips or writing on the sleeve

Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks (US, 11th Nov 1977, Winchester Press, Warner Bros / Virgin BSK 3147, LP) VG- G

A well listened to original first US press of the ever wonderful, Never Mind the Bollocks. Sub-Mission sticker appears on the front. The sleeve (particularly the top front) and spine have seen better days, as has the original inner. Vinyl scuffed up, spindle marks, background noise. Somewhat remarkably, the record plays without jumps/skips with only the occasional pop. A decent play copy for the collector absolutist

The Smiths - The World Won't Listen (UK, 1987, Rough Trade, RT101, Printed Inner, Compilation, Import, LP) VG VG-
A decent play copy. The vinyl is scuffed up a bit, with a little crackle, pop, and background noise. A visible light surface scratch, about six inches long does not affect play. A few other surface marks. I put it on my turntable, and it played without skips or jumps. The front of the sleeve looks sharp. The back of the sleeve, however, has a cut that's gone right through from one end of the sleeve to the other, around an inch or so from the top. It looks like someone has used a craft or carpet knife on it - almost like the sleeve was under whatever it was they were cutting. It's a clean straight cut, visible but not all torn up and frayed (see photo.) This hasn't affected the front of the sleeve. The rest of the cover is pretty solid, with minor corner wear and the spine is in very good shape. The glossy inner is very good. No writing/markings/musings on the sleeve or the labels. This pressing is unique in one sense - the catalogue number box on the back of the cover is pink, as opposed to white on all other UK editions

Soft Cell - Non-Stop Ecstatic Dancing (US, 1982, Sire 1-23694, LP, Mixed Plates) VG VG
This edition has been manufactured with mixed plates: Side A has runouts that relate it to Capitol Records. LA (LW2 and ✲), while Side B has runouts that relate it to Sheffield Lab Matrix (SLM) and Allied Records (ɑ)

Television - Adventure (UK, 1979, Elektra K52072, Repress, Red Labels, Red Vinyl, Import) VG+ VG+ Fine copy all round - comes with printed inner sleeve

Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night (US, 1976, Asylum, 7E1015, Reissue) VG VG+

The vinyl is scuffed, some visible marks that don't affect play. Background noise and crackles here and there. The sleeve is still in shrink - comes with printed insert

U2 - The Joshua Tree (Canada, 1987, Island, ISX1127, Gatefold, Import) VG VG

Plain black Island inner sleeve, includes insert/foldout poster

PLEASE... PLEASE READ ALL NOTES BEFORE BIDDING/BUYING

The following guidelines apply to all my vinyl record listings. I grade each record individually using the Discogs goldmine grading guide, which many of you will be aware of. For those who aren’t, please see the guide at the end of this item description or visit How to Grade Items: Determine the Condition of Records on the Discogs website. I have been as accurate and transparent as possible in terms of grading. Although I've sold records in the past, I’ve never been a professional seller as such. If there is a problem, it will be my oversight rather than a deliberate attempt to mislead. I have stated the year, label, region of pressing, and other details, but not always whether it’s the first, second, third, etc. issue.) Overall, I have tended to be conservative with the grading, which has been partly visual - I have given it my best shot. I do not claim to be infallible. I know what each of my listed records is worth (certainly a ballpark figure.) However, please feel free to make an offer (if available.) All serious offers will be considered, so don't be shy. And by that, I don't mean knocking off fifty dollars on a ninety-dollar listing, or something equally as derisory. I do like to offer a bargain, but you know, there's a limit to my generosity.

***IMPORTANT SHIPPING AND PACKAGING INFORMATION***

Please allow FIVE business days for shipping. Generally, I only mail on the weekend - though I do my best to mail midweek. I work as a high school teacher which often (including during summer) makes weekday visits to the post office impossible. I will always keep you informed of the shipping progress. I keep shipping and handling costs to a minimum but in the last year or so rising mail prices and the ever-more costly packaging materials mean the overall shipping costs have somewhat increased. The shipping price includes packing materials and time. I combine shipping.

Check my feedback for reassurance. Over two separate accounts, I first started buying and selling on eBay in October 2003. During that time, I have yet to receive any negative, or even neutral, feedback (Although, there's usually a first time for everything.) Please be so kind as to contact me before leaving any negative feedback. I will always try and find an agreeable solution for you.

If you have any questions, please ask and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Also, if you'd like more photos, let me know and I will sort them - close-ups of LPs, sleeves, things like that, no problem. Please note that if you are new to eBay or have less than five feedback or downright crumby feedback, please message me before bidding. I reserve the right not to sell or respond to those people I suspect to be scammers. I will not engage with those who are impolite, abrasive, or employ unwarranted profanity. This applies to both pre-sale and post-sale, should you get that far.

PAYPAL PAYMENT VERY MUCH PREFERRED

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS, PLEASE MESSAGE ME BEFORE BIDDING

DOMESTIC ITEMS SENT BY MEDIA MAIL UNLESS OTHERWISE REQUESTED: FOR ANY SPECIAL SHIPPING REQUEST, THE BUYER COVERS THE EXTRA SHIPPING COST OVER THE AMOUNT LISTED. QUOTED SHIPPING AND HANDLING RATE IS FOR USA CUSTOMERS ONLY

If any of the above notes and descriptions are not to your liking - please don't buy or bid. Very occasionally, buyers complain about something clearly stated in the listing. I find such complaints as infuriating as students who moan about a grade when it’s clear they haven’t fully read the question

Cheers!

GRADING GUIDE PART A

GRADING GUIDE PART B (DISCOGS)

Mint (M)

The item and container are perfect in every way. To qualify as mint, the item must never have been played and is possibly still sealed. Mint should be used sparingly as a grade, if at all. Note that an item can be sealed and not be in mint condition.

Near Mint (NM)

The item is nearly perfect. Near Mint (NM) media has more than likely never been played, and if it has, there will be no imperfections during playback. The item should show no obvious signs of wear. The cover or container can have very minor defects, but it should have no folds, seam splits, scratches, or other noticeable similar defects. The same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, etc. Many dealers won’t give a grade higher than NM, implying (perhaps correctly) that no item is ever truly perfect.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

The item will show some signs that it was played and handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Any defects are cosmetic and do not affect the actual playback. In theory, a Very Good Plus (VG+) item should sound almost the same as a near-mint (NM) one. Surfaces may show some signs of wear, such as slight scuffs or very light scratches, and slight warps that do not affect play.

Very Good (VG)

The item’s defects will be more pronounced. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade but will not overpower the music. Wear will start to be noticeable, such as with light scratches on vinyl (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels, covers, and sleeves may be marred by writing or have attached tape, stickers, and residue. However, a VG item will not have all these problems simultaneously.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)

An item in Good (G) or Good Plus (G+) condition can be played without skipping, but it will have significant surface noise, scratches, crackling, or visible wear. A container, cover, or sleeve will have scratches or seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, or other defects will also be present.

Poor (P), Fair (F)

The item is cracked, badly warped, and won’t play through without skipping or repeating. The container or cover could be cracked, water-damaged, and heavily marred by wear or writing. If it is a vinyl record, the album covers and inner sleeves are fully split, crinkled, and written upon. Based only on this condition, poor (P) or fair (F) records are generally worth very little.
