THE WATERBOYS Fisherman’s Blues. Used LP in Near Mint/Very Good+ condition. Chrysalis Records Catalog # FV 41589; 1988
Condition: LP played all of twice, good quality vinyl in terms of noise. LP jacket has only minor flaws—a wrinkle at lower right as seen from front and slight ring inpression on front; original paper inner sleeve with notes on the album has one-inch seam splits at bottom and one side edge.
Behind the Music: Irish band The Waterboys burst upon the US “alternative” music radio scene with the title track of this album. This is not a traditional Irish group, but is powered by the exuberant lead vocals of Mike Scott and the bristling with energy fiddling of Steve Wickham. Note that the song listings on back of LP jacket are in error, as they leave off “Dunford’s Fancy,” the penultimate selection on Side Two. I don’t know if later versions corrected this problem. This album runs in excess of 50 minutes, unusual for a Pop Music release.
PLEASE NOTE: I will not sell anything for less than $9.99, as it’s not worth packaging the item up and taking it to the Post Office. Sure, you can buy an LP for 50 cents or less at a yard sale, but will it have been cared for like mine? Not likely.
