25 Blank Records X-Ray Roentgen Bones 7” for Disc Recording or craft projects with small holes.

Recording results may vary depending on equipment used and experience, so we cannot guarantee that you will get good results.

caferoentgen dot com says that the X-rays “could hold grooves once coated with a layer of lacquer”

“A recording lathe would be used to etch copies of a musical album onto the film”.

I would imagine they coated them with clear nitrocellulose lacquer.  Other websites have stated the use of that.

This seems to be readily available.

We have not tested these X-rays for recording, so we cannot guarantee they will work for you.

Back in the 20th Century, jazz fans in the Soviet Union were using record cutters to make bootleg jazz records on X-Ray film.

Playing one of those X-Ray jazz records was called, "playing the bones".
