Maledetti originally released in 1976, is the last studio album recorded by Area with Demetrio Stratos, and is considered the headstone of the original line-up. At this point the band became an open group, joined for the occasion by Steve Lacy and Paul Lytton. Their classic Jazz Rock style that during the years had become their musical trademark, started to get contaminated with different musical styles (oriental sounds, classical orchestrations), still being radical and original, still well rooted into avant-garde.
