Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.

We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.

We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status!  Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

THIN LIZZY

'VAGABONDS OF THE WESTERN WORLD'

SUPERB COPY EARLIEST MATRIX AND SLEEVE...Becoming impossible to find this copy is a real stunner

From a Private music business associate, this LP is from a collection of archived 'from new' LPs, all are simply outstanding condition...

See our others listed, there's a lot more to come from this collection-all in this amazing condition..

Released   1973

Label        DECCA SKL 5170 STEREO

Matrix      ZAL-12520.P-5W   Stamper:  2    UC

                 ZAL-12521.P-3W   Stamper:  1       C R

THE VINYL     EX+ STRONG

As you can see, this vinyl is the 1st UK pressing from 1973 -Stored from new this LP remains in pristine condition everywhere. It has had way below average plays and remains in superb condition.

This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.

Below average spider lines around the centre hole, and no wear to the spindle hole whatsoever. It really is stunning!

There are a few light whisp lines and thats it-  nothing else!  No scratches or marks that affect the vinyl - Clearly this LP has been so well looked after and carefully played .

As we placed the stylus we heard a little lead in static as the vinyl explodes into the rich huge sound of this classic LP..the sound is quite simply jaw dropping! No jumps skips or pops and just the occasional static in the dead grooves -a professional hoover clean could get this to even higher grade playability.

FOR SUCH A RARE RECORD, THIS IS REALLY AS GOOD AS IT GETS.

THE LABELS   MINT-  FLAT MATT 1st issue BLUE 'BOXED LOGO' LABELS

THE SLEEVE     EX STRONG

Correct  UK  1973 first edition  FLAT MATT  FINISH SLEEVE  first issued earliest sleeve with 'square PROUD' spine- manufactured By 'Robert Stace' - later sleeves had virtually no spine..finding one with the 'proud' spine is a first for us!

As we all know, this particular sleeve is just impossible to find in any condition these days..most copies suffer terrible ring wear on the back top and front bottom in particular..SO grading we feel should reflect just how hard it is to find a good one.

The edges are all super clean with some fine traces of rub, in a few places along the edges , and all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition.

JUST A HINT OF CLEAN WITH JUST SOME VERY MINIMAL FEATHER IN AFEW SPOTS

THERE IS SOME SLIGHT TIP RUB AND A FEW SPIDER LINES ALONG THE SPINE EDGE

The spine edge is SUPER CRISP WITH NO SQUASH - There a few light rub spots.

The back sleeve is as good as we have seen for ages- normally here is where the white ruing rub is a terror..but this sleeve has just the slightest white rub on the top seam & some ring press..

Overall, this is a superb sleeve and to find a better one is very very hard indeed.

LYRIC SHEET:  MINT-    Yes here and Superb condition, no damage

THE INNER SLEEVE   MINT-

Original  printed DECCA poly lined paper inner..superb condition
