Shiny and free of visible defects.

It looks like it just came from the store and was opened for the first time.

(EX) Excellent

Light scuffs or scratches that do not affect play.

Slight ring wear or discoloration. If seam split, less than one inch.

(VG+) Very Good Plus

More scuffs or scratches that may have some affect on sound quality.

Slightly more ring wear or discoloration. If seam is split, less than two inches.

(VG) Very Good

Lack most of the original gloss. Groove wear is evident, as are scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail.

Minor writing, tape or sticker. Ring wear and more seam splits.

(G) Good

Significant groove wear. Heavier scratches than VG. Most in this condition have been play-graded and do not contain skips, but may have much background noise.

Significant ring wear, seam splits over 6 inches, considerable writing.
