On offer here is a UK original 1967 Stereo Yellow & Black Parlophone 1st pressing of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. It comes complete with the original sheet of cut-outs.  It comes with a rare label variation on Side 2 with the STEREO logo much lower than normal on the label so that it overlaps with the yellow Parlophone logo (see the label for Side 1 to see the regular position of the STEREO logo).

The catalogue number is PCS 7027 and the matrix numbers are Side 1 – YEX 637-1 & Side 2 – YEX 638-1. Mothers & stampers are: Side 1 – OM 4 & Side 2 – OO 4.

The record is very strictly graded in Good+/VG- condition with quite a few marks and scratches/scuffs on both sides. The record plays through much better than it looks visually, though with some background noise / clicks.  As usual with these very heavy, thick vinyl original UK pressings, it sounds really good and plays through without jumps, sticks etc.

The original correct stereo gatefold cover with the flipback flaps inside the centre of the gatefold is also very strictly graded in nice VG/VG+ condition with just some general wear and spine damage.  There is a faded name written in ink inside the gatefold. Comes with cut outs insert which has a tear at the top and a crease across it.  The inner sleeve is a standard EMI advertising sleeve which has a couple of tears in it – there is no red ‘Fool’ inner sleeve.

The labels are nice with no tears, marks or writing and there are only light traces of spindle wear on both sides.  Side 1 has the KT tax code on the label.
