MINA
“AMOR MIO”
(Amore Mio)
RARE original Odeon Records very first Stereo press released in Chile in 1975 by Emi/Odeon Records, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from PDU-Schaan, Italy, catalog number SLDC-35306, with hand etched matrix numbers YXLD-PDU 922 1 in Side A and YXLD-PDU 923 2 in Side B, with green/black EMI/Odeon Records labels. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“AMOR MIO” is a compilation album of the PDU albums by Mina originally released in Argentina in 1974 and we didn’t have to wait much because this album was released here in Chile in 1975. So far I know this album was only released in Argentina and Chile but it’s possible that it was a compilation album for South American market. Like so many times in that period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of two single pieces of a very thin cardboard for both front and back covers kept together for an outer plastic bag which’s part of the cover. Both front and back cover keep the original Argentinian artwork. Front cover has the photo of Mina with her name at top and the album title written in Spanish only at the bottom, with boxed separate EMI and Odeon logo. Back cover is pink colored, with album title written in Spanish only, with tracklist written in Spanish, translated to original language, with full credits for songwriters and time of each song. In labels the album title and tracklist are written in Spanish only, with credits for songwriters. The songs in this exclusive compilation album by Mina for Argentina and Chile is listed with the language she’s singing the songs:
Side A
1 BALADA DE OTOÑO (Ballata D’autunno) – Italian
2 CANTO DE OSSANHA – Portuguese
3 EL HOMBRE QUE ESCAPO (The Man That Got Away) – English
4 VENDRA, VENDRA (Vedrai, Vedrai) – Italian
5 ALGO (Something) – English
6 HACE TIEMPO Y A LO LEJOS (I Giorni Del Faló) (Long Ago And Far Away) – Italian
Side B
1 AMOR MIO (Amore Mio) – Spanish
2 AYER (Yesterday) – English
3 SENTADO A LA VERA DEL CAMINO (Sentado A Beira Do Caminho) – Portuguese
4 RIO PEREZOSO (Lazy River) – English
5 AL CORAZON NO LO MANDO MAS (Al Cuore Non Comandi Mai) – Italian
6 ALFIE - English
It’s interesting to notice that in labels it’s informed this record is made and distributed in Chile by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. but in back cover it’s informed EMI Odeon Chilena, S.A. So, here you have the chance to get this UNIQUE COMPILATION album by Mina singing in Spanish, Portuguese, English and Italian, with this UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE!!! WOW!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great VG+ or EX- condition, clear and clean, no writings, some bends and creases, no blemishes, only general wear in edges and corners, with the outer plastic bag in great condition too, complete but with a less than 1 inch “seam split”/rip at bottom edge cover, caused by the record. The record is in strong VG or VG+ condition both sides, clean, clear and glossy, with scuffs, hairlines and some scratches, which don’t affect play. Labels on both sides are in great NM or NM+ condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in great VG or VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), some constant crackles in parts, more evident in silent parts and in song “Alfie”, with some soft clicks and pops here and there, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud sound this album keeps from the beginning to the end. I’d recommend a deep vacuum cleaning anyway. Overall, a great record with still a great look, sure not for Minty minds but with immaculate labels and still a more than respectable and decent sound quality after almost 39 years!!! A nice compilation album to hear and enjoy Mina singing in different languages with an UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like
new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only
some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the
sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or
poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there
is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which
doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or
creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays
no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and
the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra
items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has
noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The
cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits,
discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for
properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface
noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
PAYMENT
PayPal (send me a message if you offer some other way to pay that we can accept)
Payment must be received within the first 7 seven days after the auction is ended.
If you pay via PayPal and PayPal holds the money (with status “Completed – Funds Not Yet Available” in my PayPal account), I will consider the items paid when funds are available in my PayPal account (this could happen after 21 days buyer paid).
SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)
We have an unique value worldwide:
GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)
GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")
GBP7 for one 7” record
All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
In the case PayPal informs me the funds are “PENDING” in my account, the record will be shipped immediately after PayPal releases the payment and funds are available. Please, remember that in my auctions the buyer pays for shipping and if the money isn’t available in my PayPal account I can’t ship the records. I know this could be an inconvenient, but I hope you can understand that PayPal places on hold the money, not me.
FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
In the case PayPal has placed on hold the payment, feedback will be left when buyer has received the record and expressed his/her satisfaction with a possitive feedback.
IMPORTANT TO READ
We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.
If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
The new policy of PayPal to place on hold the payments:
“Your transactions are placed on hold as we are unable to confirm that the items have been shipped. We encourage you to provide tracking numbers for the items you are shipping to protect you as a seller through PayPal’s Seller Protection Policy. This hold is implemented to all eBay sites. This is part of the security measures to help buyers and sellers have successful business transactions.”
“I would like to assure you that this hold placed on your payments is an additional measure taken by eBay and PayPal to protect you as a seller. Both your eBay and PayPal accounts are being reviewed regularly to see how we can further help you maintain successful transactions and good reputation for your seller account.”
THIS NEW POLICY IS AGAINST BUYERS AND SELLERS!!!
Buyers pay for shipping in my auctions, so it’s obvious that if money is placed on hold the seller (me) won’t have that money available to ship the items. What kind of help is that? Buyers deserve respect and I don’t see how to place on hold the payments will help to “maintain successful transactions”… My buyers and me don’t need that kind of help!!! The comments I get prove the quality of the records I sell and the satisfaction of my buyers with the service I give. I hope you can understand that I try to give all the satisfaction possible and records are sent when payments are available in my PayPal account but if PayPal decides to place on hold your payment and the money you pay for shipping, then it’s PayPal the responsable for the extra delay of 21 days, NOT ME.
