This listing is part of a record collection of a deceased gentleman that I am selling as a solicitor and an executor of his estate. The deceased gentleman was a retired music journalist of BBC local radio and consequently I am advised that some of his collection extending to around 500 records are quite rare and hence collectable. I have limited knowledge of the collection but I can confirm that all of the records were stored well in purpose built racks in the gentleman’s house and mostly appear to have been well looked after. I propose to adopt the recommended “record collector magazine’s grading guide” and I am setting up the first five categories of grading from the guide, I think it fair to say that the vast majority of the collection would form excellent and very good categories. I know that some buyers may be put off by the lack of feedback which resulted from my opening this new account for the sale. If it is of any reassurance I have a 100% feedback on my own ebay account going back over a ten year period for more than 600 transactions, a good majority of which have been sales of items.

I would be glad to help with any questions about any particular listing but do please be aware that I am not myself a collector of records and so do not have any in depth knowledge of the items.

" The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
