A really must-have for any Library / DJ vinyl collector and samples hunter. This is Silvano Chimenti/Romano Rizzati (alias Walter Rizzati) I GRES Vol.1, a sought-after Funky Breaks Library monster featuring the infamous track "Restless" made famous by DJ Leacy, and including other top notching Breaks and Beats. Top famed Italian Hip Hop Funk Library gem and tough to find in this pristine shape. Vol.1 of 3, this is surely the best I GRES from the series. Killer!
I GRES were a studio group only founded by Silvano Chimenti that recorded 3 studio albums on this series. Band name brings the members initials: the "G" of organist GIORGIO CARNINI, "R" standing for maestro ROBERTO PREGADIO, "E" was the drummer ENZO RESTUCCIA and the "S" of the leading band man SILVANO CHIMENTI. This LP contains some of the very best Funky & Groovy music. Hard-hitting drum Breaks on allover / Psychedelic vibes / Infamous Bboy grooves / Moody Funky Prog. / Jazz-Funk and Bossa. Superb and cinematic throughout.

Among the tunes, "RESTLESS" (this classic B-boy favourite cop Funk was also used as main theme for the "Dibattito politico" 1975 Tv programme) and " VOLEUR" both characterized by exciting Funky sound: organ, horns and obsessive drumming. "JEANETTE" enchanting Lounge-Bossa tune, "PLANCTON" special Rock-Blues with the Chimenti's electric guitar in prominence and obessessive rhythm; "RONDE BOSSE" a romantic Bossa, "HOT DOGS" Funk and killer guitar with distortions with monster drum Breaks. "GRUMBLING" is Giorgio Carnini's nice organ cinematic tension theme. "NON CHALANT" seems to be a perfect movie ending theme, nostalgic driven Progressive beats Score created by the genius Silvano Chimenti, Library guitar hero!
