From AllMusic.com: An R&B vocal group from Los Angeles, California, USA, comprising Jesse Harris, Milton Hayes, Harold Harris, Willie Holley and Lance Porter. The group was formed in 1963 and first found success locally with ‘She Told Me Lies’ for Exodus. It raised enough interest for Warner Brothers Records to pick it up and release it on its Reprise Records label. The formation of Warner Brothers’ R&B subsidiary, Loma, saw the Marvellos joining that label in 1965. The group immediately succeeded with ‘We Go Together’, styled after the Temptations’ ‘It’s Growing’. Nothing more happened after ‘We Go Together’ had run its course and members of the Marvellos spent many years as background session singers. However, in 1975, Jesse Harris and Milton Hayes found new success in a highly respected vocal group, Street Corner Symphony, which had evolved out of the session group in which they were working. The outfit released Harmony Grits (1975) and Little Funk Machine (1976), reprising old songs and singing new material in a neo-doo-wop style.
