“GO GO GO…”
(Teen-Beat With Twelve International Bands)
(Various)
ULTRA MEGARARE and HARD TO FIND original Polydor Records very first High Fidelity MONO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1964 by Discos Philips (Philips Records), licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon Ges., Germany, catalog number 423 001, with machine etched matrix numbers 423001-2 A S (P)1964 G5 ◊K in Side A and 423001 B S (P)1964 E5 ◊K in Side B, with traditional red/black Polydor Records labels with white “Polydor” and black “half of the record” at top. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for fans and collectors of The Beatles and UK beat music from the sixties!!!
“GO GO GO” is a compilation released by Polydor International Records in Germany, in 1964, and the same year it was released here in Chile and like so many times in that period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of a single piece of cardboard folded in the middle faking a gatefold cover, so 3 sides are open and kept together for a plastic bag. About this record, some references inform it was released in 1965, but that date isn’t correct, this record was released in Chile late 1964, so it’s impossible the original German issue was released in 1965. Front cover has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and back cover also has an UNIQUE DESIGN (you can see and compare with the original German issue in this link: ). As you can see in front cover it’s a pink diamond-shaped sticker with the text in Spanish “Serie Diamond – The Serie Of The Big Hits”. In Chile the album title is only “Go Go Go…” with the tracklist written in both back cover and labels in Spanish only (except “Go Go Go” and “Shake, Rattle And Roll”, written in English only), with full credits for songwriters. The tracklist in this record:
Side 1
Go Go Go – THE SWING SING SEVEN
Shake, Rattle And Roll – TONY SHERIDAN AND THE BEAT BROTHERS
Wonderous Place – JOHNNY VALLONS & THE DEEJAYS
Don’t Take Away Your Love – THE CHIMES
Susanna – THE SHY ONES
I Just Can’t Go To Sleep – THE DEEJAYS
Look At This Boy – THE LOLLIPOPS
Great Balls Of Fire – THE SPOTNICKS
Side 2
Farmer John – THE DEEJAYS
One Way Ticket – THE CLIFFTERS
Unchain My Heart – BOOTS WELLINGTON AND HIS RUBBER BAND
Hello – THE TREMORS
Long Tall Shorty – THE DEEJAYS
Feel So Bad – BOOTS WELLINGTON AND HIS RUBBER BAND
So What – THE BATS
Sit Right Down And Cry – THE TREMORS
As you can see, in this MEGARARE Chilean issue in back cover they recommend 6 records by Bert Kaempfert. It also has a catalog number error, in front cover it’s clearly written E423001, in back cover it’s 423001 and in both labels it’s 423.001. The band Boots Wellington And His Rubber Band is translated to Spanish as Boots Wellington Y SUS Rubber Band (the correct translation is “Y SU”), the name of the band The Swing Sing Seven is written The Swing sing seven in label and the name of the band The Shy Ones is misspelled THEY Shy Ones in back cover. But the most important fact about this record is that it contains the song “Shake, Rattle And Roll” by Tony Sheridan And The Beat Brothers, and as you should already know, The Beat Brothers are THE BEATLES!!! I Don’t really know any other Chilean record including The Beatles as The Beat Brothers, because the singles Polydor released in Chile are credited to The Beatles, I can’t also say if this LP was released before the singles, but the name of Tony Sheridan And The Beat Brothers was never used in Chile for a single. So, here you have the chance to get this rare compilation with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, MONO SOUND, UNIQUE ERRORS and with THE BEATLES included as Tony Sheridan And The Beat Brothers!!! NEVER SEEN IN eBay BEFORE!!! Another great rarity from Chile in great condition!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, clean and clear, no ring marks, some wear in all edges, more evident in corners, with light bends and creases, some age browning in back cover, but no rips, no tears, no blemishes, no marks of any kind. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with scuffs, light hairlines and some very soft scratches, which don’t affect play. Labels on both sides are in great EX or EX+ condition, clean and clear, with some spindle hole wear and a little blemish in Side A. The sound is the best part, it’s in strong EX+ or even NM- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some very light occasional crackles here and there, more evident in the silent parts between tracks, but hard to hear if you are not looking for them, which of course don’t cause any distraction. Overall, maybe it’s not a record for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure this is a great record with still a very nice cover, glossy record and amazing sound quality after about 52 years which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget the amazing rarity this compilation record is and this Chilean press has MONO SOUND, UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, UNIQUE ERRORS and The Beatles are included as Tony Sheridan And The Beat Brothers!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like
new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only
some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the
sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or
poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there
is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which
doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or
creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays
no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and
the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra
items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has
noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The
cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits,
discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for
properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface
noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
