For sale is The J. Geils Band self titled first album, originally released in 1970 by Atlantic Records. This is the first edition of this record with the original label having the Green on top, Red on the bottom separated by a white band and the 1841 Broadway address on the bottom. I bought this record new when it was originally released, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. I always put my records directly into a protective inner sleeve, thus preserving the vinyl and any inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come originally with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as VG because of corner blunts, ring wear, some writing on the bottom of the back cover and a small tear at the back cover's corner. The spine has a little color loss from edge rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of sleeve marks and some faint surface scratches, and play graded as Near Mint Minus because of the lowest level of background surface noise inherent with vinyl that has been carefully played. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment and still has a lot of life yet. This is still one of the best copies of this record that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, being that it has become so scarce. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have a lot more Rock and Roll albums, as well as records of all genres, in my Ebay Store. Please take a look. They're almost all Near Mint. Thanks for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
