Just for the record, my first jazz recording I ever purchased was Herbie Hancock's "Takin Off" so Herbie  has a special place in my heart!!  The diversity of Hancock's recordings are astounding and this session is a perfectly realized spiritually charged outing...Freddie Hubbard on trumpet is right in the pocket and George Coleman's sax has never sounded better to my ears!!  Ron Carter (Bass) and Anthony Williams (drums) supply a perfect foundation for the music to evolve and move to.  The standout tne is the title song which is on many "best of" jazz recordings and will not disappoint but the music gets even more challenging!!  The listener gets rewarded by participating in this voyage from start to finish!!  "Dolphin Dance" closes out the recording and pulls you back and may be the best tune on this CLASSIC!!!  This belongs in every collection and is  getting tougher to find... This gets my highest recommendation and  You better believe I have a copy in my archives and you should too.  GOOD LUCK...plenty of cool tunes for you coming, so keep an eye out.

VINYL: VG+ glossy, decent play copy with some non-feelable hairline scuffs and marks that don't overtly affect the overall listening pleasure

COVER: VG+ seams are all intact but there is some ring wear
