   For sale is Michael Jackson's Off The Wall, originally released in 1979 by Epic Records. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers 2-AK/2-BB, indicating that an earlier stamper was used to press this first edition and, according to the liner notes, mastered by Bernie Grundman, hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record new when released, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine, then put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as VG+ because of corner blunts, edge rubs, a stress crack along the spine and faint ring wear. The spine has color loss at the corners from these corner blunts along with some small spots along the edges. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus because of some very faint sleeve marks on Side Two. I'm play grading this as Near Mint. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find an original first edition in this condition.
