The label D.M.F. was created in May 1963 in Elboeuf in Seine-Maritime (Normandy), by Michel Demarest, Jacques Marie and Jean Frémont. From the beginning, the label branched into many areas of phonographic releases: commercial recordings intended for industrial branches, vanity pressings, promotional product tie-ins, flexidiscs, covering classical, the arts (especially contemporary and poetry) and the newly-emerging rock 'n' roll!
Approximately 250 titles were published between 1963 and 1968. Only those relating to rock as a whole appear on this compilation with a selection of 28 titles that range from beat, the twist and surf instrumentals to full-on rock 'n' roll and garage rock...most (if not all) of these artists and releases have sadly languished in obscurity for 50 years, so this selection is especially welcome right now!   Factory-sealed gatefold sleeve.
