Vinyl is in VG+ (near-mint) shape, cover has some shelf wear & a little dry rot and has “HANNA” written on top left. Previous owner wrote “G. Hanna” on label of Side A. Inside cover includes an 11” x 23” insert with handwritten lyrics on one side and photos of the band on the other.
I've taken “overexposed” photos of each side to show the shape they are in. Please note that marks visible are of the photographer.
Bad Religion was formed in Los Angeles in 1980 by high school students Greg Graffin, Jay Bentley, Jay Ziskrout, and Brett Gurewitz. Their first public performance was playing 6-8 songs at a Fullerton, California (or Santa Ana, California) warehouse opening for Social Distortion. Their first official show was on November 11, 1980 at Joey Kills Bar in Burbank, California.
In 1981, the band released their initial EP on the newly formed label, Epitaph Records, which was and continues to be managed and owned by Gurewitz. Also in 1981, the band began recording their first full-length album, How Could Hell Be Any Worse? During the recording of this album, drummer Jay Ziskrout quit the band, and was replaced by Peter Finestone. Released in 1982, How Could Hell Be Any Worse? was also distributed by the band under the Epitaph label, and sold roughly 12,000 copies, 10,000 within a year.

My story: I managed 3 used record stores and before that worked at the record booth at the local flea market record booth, where I learned the trade from “The Old Hip-Eye,” cleaning thousands of albums and becoming conversant with just about all the bands of note. I worked there for trade, and afterward, as manager of 3 different used record stores, I either got paid cash or x2 in trade, and spent many a paycheck collecting vinyl, particularly rare punk rock. I was the primary record buyer at Alley Cat Records, Lawrence, KS (in 2 locations) and Archives Records (Des Moines, IA) and bought both used and new records (from labels including Mammoth, Lookout, etc.).
Most
of my private collection consists of near-mint, autographed &
carefully, barely played vinyl records which have been stored safely
since purchase and kept in a smoke and pet free environment.
The vinyl, Cassettes & rare CDs* I sell are in the condition stated, and many never even hit the shelves of the stores in which I worked, as I got first crack at the stock before it was put into the “New Arrivals” bin. I always handle vinyl with the audiophile care I've come to learn in handling records with for professional grading and buying purposes.
*I don't rate case condition as they break easily in transit.
If you live in or near Lawrence, KS 66046, you are welcome to pick up your items directly.
Handling:
Regarding vinyl, if you would like the record removed from the jacket cover to avoid potential seam splits, please advise, otherwise item will be packed as is—but securely—and carefully.
