This very rare white label promotional demonstration copy of the double album called The Life and Times of Country Joe and the Fish from Haight-Ashbury to Woodstock, was released on Vanguard Records in 1971.  The double album has been re-released many times. This copy is an original white label dj vinyl promotional pressing released in conjunction to the first official black vinyl commercial release of the commercial album in September, 1971.

This band was mostly know from having played a very distinctive musical set at Woodstock. Country Joe and the Fish created ten albums of interesting and at musically unusual psychedelic country rock songs from 1965 to 1970, when the band broke up.  This double album vinyl release includes all their biggest hits as well as many obscure ones. This album contains the first appearance of the folk and jug version of the group's best known song 'I Fell Like I'm Fixin to Die Rag." The album also includes a live version of this song from the original Woodstock concert, as well as live versions of five other songs, and also several of their singles not released elsewhere.   if you only have space for one of their albums, this would probably be the best one to own as it encompasses their entire discography.
