"PET SOUNDS" 1966 US original first pressing MONO Capitol T-2458, Brian Wilson classic. There was NO true stereo version of this LP until decades later when Brian went back into the masters and did an actual stereo mix. ALL 1960's & 1970's and beyond stereo pressings were incredibly 'rechannelled stereo'! The only mix Brian did himself in 1966 was MONO, and here it is.
This is a fabulous player copy of an original pressing. It has some superficial hairlines and minor spindle trails, otherwise still shiny and nice. We have played this through twice. It plays and sounds great, I heard one slight 'pop' during "Sloop John B" otherwise only minor and occasional light surface noise if any. Labels are bright and clean, no writing, no stickers.
The cover has minor shelf soil on the back and light wear only, partial light wear ring on the front. No splits, no stickers, no writing. Spine print straight up and down and intact.
OVERALL a very nice, not mint but quite acceptable and enjoyable original 1966 mono US pressing of an audio piece of rock history! A masterpiece to be listened to over and over.
SOLID VG+ or better, inside and out.
