Collectors, here is a surely scarce record for you, one sided Star #3607, "Musical Moke', a "Vaudeville Sketch" with talking, singing and piano, circa 1908. "Moke" was then contemporary slang for an African American. Ellsworth Hawthorn and Horace Sheble owned a bicycle shop in Philadelphia, in the 1890's they made accessories for Edison cylinder machines. In the early 1900's they started making phonographs and records, most of the records were rereleases of Columbia record material. The Star brand was the second label name they used, starting about 1906. Victor sued the company aggressively and repeatedly for patent infringement and the company disbanded in 1909. Record plays quite well, there is some surface noise. Own a piece of phonographic history!! Where you going to find another one?? Reasonable buy it now price, go for it!!
Shipping to USA addresses only. $5.00 media mail postage and handling, record will be carefully packed and shipped in a new box. Please pay within 48 hours of purchase and positive feedback appreciated!! See my other listings for other early 78s and thanks for looking!!
