Sometimes CDs or vinyl will have a "cut-out" slice or "promo punch" either in the corner or through the UPC code - we will include this in the description if applicable. If there is a problem with an item, contact us and we will figure out the best action to take. We do NOT accept returns if you decide you simply don't like the item, or have buyer's remorse - buy wisely, and ask questions if necessary. Damage incurred during shipping should be brought up with the carrier but is extremely rare as we box everything adequately, including using extra cardboard for protection.

Wait one business day for us to change the invoice or else it will charge you full shipping for each item (we will not refund extra shipping once paid). We have to change shipping by hand - typically we charge what is close to the actual cost with maybe a $1 USD handling fee per item to cover the cost of packing materials.

Item Summary:

Stardumb Records is proud to present the vinyl reissue of 'Career Objective', a modern punk rock classic by Dan Vapid's Methadones, originally released on CD by Stardumb (Europe) and Thick Records (US) in 2003.

Dan Vapid – born Dan Schafer in 1970 – started playing punk rock as a teenager in Chicago in the mid-80's (his first band being short-lived hardcore outfit Generation Waste, formed in 1985).

In 1989 he joined Screeching Weasel (switching back and forth from bass to guitar over the band's history), playing on legendary albums such as 'My Brain Hurts', 'Wiggle' and 'Anthem For A New Tomorrow' for Lookout! Records as well as 'Bark Like A Dog' for Fat Wreck Chords, co-writing several of the songs on those albums too.

In 1994 Dan formed the Riverdales (sharing lead vocals and songwriting duties with Ben Weasel), again with international success, including touring both sides of the Atlantic supporting Green Day on their 1995 'Insomniac' tour.

In between playing with those bands in the 1990's and 2000's, Dan fronted several other bands as well. The one with the longest run has been The Methadones, releasing six albums between 2001 and 2010. Their 2003 sophomore release 'Career Objective' (including cult hit 'Say Goodbye To Your Generation') was a CD-only release initially, but was finally released on vinyl in 2008 on Underground Communique Records. With copies of the LP becoming harder and harder to find, it was about time Stardumb brought this brilliant album back. And since The Methadones were supposed to do a handful of reunion shows both in the US and Europe, this seemed exactly the right time to do so. Like pretty much everything else in 2020 those shows of course got canceled, but hey, at least we still have the music!

The LP is fully remastered by Mass Giorgini, includes two bonus tracks and comes in a fancy gatefold sleeve. Whoop!
