LOS SANTOS

SIDE A:     VOY CAMINANDO

SIDE B:     JULIA

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Columbia Records very first High Fidelity Mono press released by Columbia Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1959 by Goluboff Industrias Fonográficas (Goluboff Records), catalog number SG-38, with hand etched matrix numbers CHZ68 in Side A and CHZ67 in Side B, with traditional white/blue Columbia Records labels of the period and large center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“Voy Caminando” was originally released in Chile in 1959 with song “Julia” as Side B. As far as I know this single with these songs as side A and B was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE and both songs were taken from the 4-Tracks EP “Un Telegrama”, released in Argentina in 1959, the Side B of this EP includes these songs “Voy Caminando” and “Julia”. Song titles are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about the tax law aplicable in Chile and Price, “$ 1.260.-”, printed in Side 1. It’s important to say that in both songs Los Santos are accompanied by Frank Ferrar And His Orchestra, but in this Chilean press the credit is omitted. Frank Ferrar is one of the pseudonyms used by Osvaldo Nicolás Ferraro, also known as Waldo De Los Rios. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and UNIQUE CHILEAN PRESS of this single by the Argentinian trio Los Santos, with both songs sung in Spanish, a record almost never seen and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Los Santos, Frank Ferrar, Waldo De Los Rios and early South American Rock’N’Roll and Latin Soul music of the ‘50’s!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many soft scuffs and light hairlines, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in nice VG+ or EX- condition both sides, clean and clear, with some spindle hole wear, evident age browning and some faint blemishes. The sound is in strong EX- or even EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with occasional light crackles here and there, which don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE and UNIQUE CHILEAN PRESS by Los Santos, maybe not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but for sure with a nice glossy look, clear and fully readable labels and a great sound quality after about 62 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity this Peruvian single!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.
