For sale is a record by Peter Gabriel's first self-titled record titled "Peter Gabriel", commonly called "Peter Gabriel 1 (Car)" released in 1977 on ATCO Records. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put this album into a protective MFSL archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the record. The inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is machine stamped "J.A.M.F." and "(PR)" followed by the matrix numbers1-D/1-E, indicating that this record was mastered at J.A.M.F. in Toronto, Canada, before early stampers were used to make this record at Presswell Records Manufacturing Company's pressing plant, located in Ancora, New Jersey. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. The vinyl is graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any sleeve marks, surface scratches, scuffs, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this record between Excellent (Side Two) and Near Mint (Side One), because of occasional low level surface noise, but without any skips, lock-ups or pops from start to finish. The cover is graded as Excellent because of some corner blunts and shelf rubs. The spine has damage at the corners with some color loss and along the edges there are spots of color loss from rubs. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life to it. This is the best copy of this hard to find record that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, especially a Presswell pressing. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more albums of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
