Collectors, here is a special disc, Emerson 7 inch #7184, circa 1917.  Bass Gus Reed sings two songs, with orchestra:  the familiar "Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep" and "The Bell in the Lighthouse".  Super enjoyable performances, I really liked the part in "Lighthouse" where Mr. Reed sings a very low "ding DONG"! The record plays well with fairly limited surface noise.  I am also including the pictured, rare Emerson record sleeve!!
Victor Emerson was a longtime executive at Columbia, and helped to introduce the Little Wonder 5 1/2" ten cent record in 1914.  He formed his own company in 1916, using mostly Columbia artists for his records.  The seven inch records sold for 25 cents; at this time Victor and Columbia sold ten inch records for 75 cents each.  Collectors enjoy the colorful Emerson la stripes and featuring the Statue of Liberty.  These were fairly successful but the Emerson company eventually produced 10 inch records when the record patents expired in 1919 and many companies started releasing records.  These are pretty hard to find and some sellers want a lot of money for these little collectibles.  I am placing several of them for sale at the same time, add them to your collection at my reasonable buy it now price!!
