Another find from my record library.
From my days at BMG Music, I remember when I heard of RCA Nashville's plans to release this commemorative album, which has been in my collection for almost 30 years.
In 1991, RCA Records released this commemorative album. A tribute album filled with performances by Rogers (then 80 years old) and some of the greatest country music artists of the time. Produced by Richard Landis, the album includes 12 tracks. The package includes images of Lorrie Morgan, Restless Heart, the late K. T. Oslin, the Oak Ridge Boys, Clint Black, Dusty Rogers and, of course, Roy Rogers.
The vinyl disc itself is a picture disc, filled with the image of Roy Rogers wearing one of his signature embroidered shirts, his neckerchief, and holding his guitar.
Tracks include: Side One: 1. "That's How The West Was Swung" with the Kentucky Headhunters 3:10. 2. "Here's Hopin'"With Randy Travis2:56. 3. "Hold On Partner"WithClint Black2:00. 4. "Tumbling Tumbleweeds"WithK. T. Oslin and Restless Heart4:26 5. "Little Joe, the Wrangler"WithEmmylou Harris2:45 6. "When Payday Rolls Around"WithRicky Van Shelton2:17
Side Two: 7. "Final Frontier"With Kathy Mattea2:25 8. "Don't Fence Me In"WithLorrie Morgan and The Oak Ridge Boys2:44. 9. "Rodeo Road"WithWillie Nelson2:21. 10. "Alive and Kickin'"Roy Rogers 2:20. 11. "King of the Cowboys"WithDusty Rogers3:29. 12. "Happy Trails"WithDale Evans and Dusty Rogers 3:21
This is a factory-sealed original album from 1991. Never opened. I assume the disc is mint. The jacket appears mint with the exception of a cut in the lower right (front) cover. The cut was the label's way of marking this record as a promotional copy.
