Rogers grew up playing banjo on a working farm in rural Maryland and first came to the public's attention when she appeared in a video posted on YouTube of Grammy Award-winning producer Pharrell Williams teaching a Masterclass at The Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where Rogers was a student.
