WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Virrey Records very first Mono press released, made and distributed in Perú by “El Virrey” Industrias Musicales S.A. (Virrey Records) in 195?, catalog number 033-45, with hand etched matrix numbers in Side A and VYA.337.Perú in Side B, with traditional black/silver Virrey Records labels of the period and large center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from South America!!!

The first to tell about this split single is that, just like many Peruvian singles, the year of release seems to be a mystery and this copy of this MEGARARE PRESS isn’t an exception, but it should be from late ‘50’s, the time corresponding to the label design. In labels the song titles are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about the style of music of each song: “Porro/Guaracha” the song “La Pacharaca” and “Bolero” the song “Interrogación”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE ORIGINAL PRESS of this rare split single by Julio Jaramillo and Máxima Mejia, both great Ecuadorian singers of all times!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Julio Jaramillo, Máxima Mejia and Latin Soul/Cumbia/Porro/Guaracha/Bolero music, a record almost never seen and maybe now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time in this MEGARARE PRESS with inverted sides!!!

This record doesn’t come with a cover. The record is in VG- or VG condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs, hairlines and some light scratches, with a slight warp, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in nice VG+ or EX- condition both sides, clear and clean, with some spindle hole wear and faint rounded discoloration, with initials from some past owner in Side A and a small rounded mark over the song title in Side B. The sound is in strong VG or VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and occasional light clicks, and in VG- or VG condition the Side B, with constant crackles, constant hiss and regular light clicks, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE ORIGINAL PERUVIAN VERY FIRST PRESS, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure still with a nice glossy look, fully readable labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after, maybe, 60 or more years, which won’t disappoint anyone. Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

 

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
