PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
INSANELY RARE Chess LP-1449 black label variant presumably from 1960 in MONO with standalone "B" in the dead wax (not B1) that was pressed as a white label promotional copy but a few stock copies must have slipped out. Release year cannot be confirmed as there is not a single entry for this pressing anywhere in the massive, sprawling Discogs database whatsoever but if the same stampers were used for the advance promotional pressing it's assumed they're from the same year and most likely a first pressing. I have had around 10 copies of this LP pass through my hands in my 40+ years of collecting here in Chicago and I have never seen this variant before. Supremely rare. LP side 1 is VG with some very light scuffs, none that can be felt, and side 2 is VG/VG+ with even fewer and lighter scuffs. Cover is VG- with a very light stain on the rear and a 4" split at the opening on the bottom.
I USE GOLDMINE GRADING: MINT (SEALED)
NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++: VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE
VG+: AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG: STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS
GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR: FILLER COPY ONLY. LOTS OF SCRATCHES
