MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Hispavox Records very first PROMOTIONAL Stereo press released by Hispavox Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1981 by Quatro Ltda. M.R. (Quatro Records), licensed from Hispavox S.A. Records, Spain, catalog number HS 244, with hand etched matrix numbers HS 244 A in Side A and HS 244 B in Side B, with traditional dark blue/silver Hispavox Records labels of the period and solid center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“Birdie Song” or “Chicken Dance” doesn’t really need any introduction, it was originally released with Spanish lyrics in 1981 by Spanish accordionist María Jesús and soon many other versions were also released, one of them by Spanish trio Karisma also in 1981 and the same year we could see this single released here in Chile. Song titles are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and Spanish lyricist in Side A and only “Popular” in Side B, with additional information about licenses, rights society and play time of each song. The song in Side B is “El Cándil”, a traditional Spanish folk tune. So, here you have the chance to get and own this single by Spanish trio Karisma, in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, a record almost never seen and maybe now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Karisma, María Jesús and Latin Pop/Dance of the ‘80’s and Spanish Folk music!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in nice EX+ or NM- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only minimal light scuffs, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great EX- or EX condition the Side A, clear and clean, with minimal spindle hole wear, a faint scratch and a kind of factory mark or blemish, easy to see against a light, and in NM- or NM condition the Side B, with not even spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong NM- or even NM condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only minimal and occasional barely audible soft crackles in the last seconds of each song, with a light pop in Side A, which don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, with still a very nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and superb sound quality after about 40 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean single!!! And keep in mind this is a PROMOTIONAL copy!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

 

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first.
