Beatles Related LP Badfinger No Dice LP Apple Sealed

I used to work at a Sound Odyssey record store in the early to mid-80’s in Delaware.  When the Scranton Capitol Records plant closed its doors, there were boxes and boxes of sealed Capitol and Apple Records, both albums and 45’s that showed up in the store’s ordering catalogues.  Had I had a much better earning potential in those days, I’d have bought much more than I did.

This album was one that I did purchase.  The seal is still tight, but the top and bottom corners were creased a little bit in either storage or shipping, as this was the way I received it.  There is also minor damage to the top corners on each side, where the top crease occurred, perhaps having been bumped.  But there is about a one-inch split there in the shrink on the right, and a small breach on the left corner.  The spine has a similar issue, but the shrink did not split.  See photos. 

There are no breathe holes in the shrink.  A few titles from this purchase were like that, making me wonder whether another pressing plant pressed these.  I also have a copy of David Peel’s “The Pope Smokes Dope” and Doris Troy’s solo Apple LP, which do not have breathe holes.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!) 

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
