Beatles PS & 45 I Want to Hold Your Hand/I Saw Her Standing There LA 1st Day Issue

Their titles are too long!

Sleeve:  West Coast thumb tab sleeve, cropping off part of George’s head, which is correct. “I Want to Hold Your Hand” title is printed on the back, rather than the front of the sleeve. This copy has some pretty obvious wear, but still a good piece. Bottom seam has a very small split in the center, less than a quarter inch. All seams are starting to show wear. Very light record outdent, both sides. Moderate, but not heavy ringwear to both sides. See photos. Only a few finger divots to each side, making this sleeve still nice and flat. Tiny thumb tack hole at the top of the sleeve. Original price sticker of 98c still affixed.

Vinyl:  Very nice VG+ Los Angeles pressing. Lots of original shine left, but there are a few more very light angel hair scratches than I would allow for a VG++ disc. Dead wax contains the 1963 versions of the Hollywood star before it was changed to the more recognizable asterisk. This is a first-day 1963 vinyl issue.

Labels:  Light dirtwear, light ringwear. Overall, still a nice set of labels. This is the original Walter Hofer version, with the blank spaces above and below the running time. (Undocumented to this day.) Later labels closed that gap between Walter Hofer and the running time. This is a first-day 1963 labels issue.

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
