Beatles LP Very Together with Infamous Cover EX/NM Vinyl (for a change.)
Collectors will recognize this now hard-to-find LP as having the cover that was capitalizing on the then-widespread and ongoing “Paul is Dead” craze in 1970. Some Canadian copies were issued with the 5th track on Side One listed as “If You Love Me, Baby,” which was titled “Take Out Some Insurance on Me, Baby” in the States. This copy has the alternate title on both the back cover and label.
Ironic that the very same album in the States was titled, “In the Beginning,” while in Canada, the title was referencing “In the End.”
Vinyl--- VERY strong Excellent, so close to NM, it will scare the cat. A few light scratches in the dead wax on both sides. One or two very short, very light lines in the playing grooves that I had to scrutinize to find. This copy looks up and smiles broadly at you, setting off your endorphins and making your insides feel like warm, melted butter.
Plates--- Apart from the catalogue number, both sides are machine-stamped with P 1961.
Cover--- Pretty good, strong VG, almost VG+. NO split seams, not even almost. Light shelfwear to top and bottom seams. A few light wrinkles on the front cover, next to the spine. Light ringwear on the front, even less on the back, which is surprising since the back cover is black.
Labels--- Very nice. Full glossy labels, both sides with some small areas of white wear-through. NO spindle marks. Very together.
Sweet copy.
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
