DESCRIPTION

Neil Young - “Trans” Geffen Records GHS 2018 (Stereo) from 1982. Hard to find Original U.S. First Pressing Quiex Transparent Audiophile Vinyl Electro / Synth / Pop / New Wave / Rock album from Neil Young with Nils Lofgren, Ben Keith, Bruce Palmer, Joe Lala and Ralph Molina, Frank Sampedro and Billy Talbot of Crazy Horse. In the Original Cover with NO Cutouts or promo markings. Includes the Original Picture and Lyrics Inner Sleeve. Both the Cover and Inner Sleeve have a Typographical Error in that they list the song “If You Got Love” which is not in fact on the LP. Later editions corrected this error. This is the Original U.S. First Pressing on Quiex Audiophile Vinyl which is Transparent when held up to a strong light. The Quiex pressing was a Limited Edition used mostly as Promos for DJs and Radio but this one has no Promo markings. The Runout Vinyl / Matrix markings read:

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in good shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear and corner softening/wear. There is a crease in the upper right corner. There is a little (1/2”) half moon shaped peel on the back on the opening edge. Still very solid with no splits, stains, tears, cutouts, writing, etc. and would rate VG. The Vinyl is in pristine Glossy condition looking barely played. If you really look closely you might be able to spot a couple light scuffs but very close to New condition and easily Near Mint visually and plays pretty much perfectly NM all through. The Labels are also Near Mint. The inner sleeve has light ring impression and 2” part splits in the bottom and one side seam but still at least VG+.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:

Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
