PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
MEGA RARE original Bobby Hata mastered first Specialty pressing from September 29, 1987 on Sire with printed inner sleeve with complete lyrics!!! LP side 1 is a gorgeous near mint minus. Side 2 is a beautiful VG++. Cover is VG/VG+ with a bit of ring. Auction also includes an ULTRA RARE original rigid 12 X 12 two-sided in-store promotional display put out by Rough Trade / Sire in 1987 with glossy album cover art on the rear!!! I purchased this from a former manager of Tower Records (R.I.P.) here in Chicago who was a big Morrisey fan and decided to rescue this one from the Tower wall for her own private collection (which was staggeringly impressive). She told me that 99% of these displays were either tossed after they were displayed or never displayed at all and then tossed. Tower staff saw them as disposable swag and clutter and as a result VERY few survived from the 1980s. Display is in beautiful condition with NO tears, peel spots from tape, staple or pin holes, bends or creases whatsoever. These are the kinds of rarities Smiths/Morrissey fans are going to be fighting over fiercely in the very near future so don't sleep.
I USE GOLDMINE GRADING: MINT (SEALED)
NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++: VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE
VG+: AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG: STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS
GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR: FILLER COPY ONLY. LOTS OF SCRATCHES
