Beatles SEALED White Album PROMO Most-Likely 1983 Black Capitol Issue, NM
READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
SEALED ALBUMS ARE NOT RETURNABLE IF OPENED. That’s fair, isn’t it?
Looking at this copy carefully, you can see that the cover construction is post-1978. There are no seams around the slick. Inside the promo hole, you can see the poster peeking through, as well as clear plastic inner sleeves. To my knowledge, the only issue to use those clear sleeves was the 1983 issue. The following issue from 1988 had some copies with those sleeves, but the catalogue number had been changed to the C1 prefix on the “Manufactured by…” purple Capitol label.
This copy retains the SWBO 101 catalogue number. Most likely, this copy is the black Capitol label with rainbow, which was the last vinyl issue, carrying the original catalogue number from way back in 1968.
Vinyl--- NM Sealed.
Plates--- NM Sealed.
Cover--- Nice Seal! There is a one-inch stretch of dirt on the top seam. That’s all. Two breathe holes are on the front cover. Light record outdent on both sides. Posters and photos are included, as you can feel the weight of the package.
Labels--- NM Sealed.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- NM Sealed.
RIAA: N/A
In equal parts, this album will be a great Christmas gift or an investment.
Be sure to check out the other records for sale this week. All are rare. You might find the perfect gift for your hard-to-shop-for loved one, or you may find a very cool gem for your own collection.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
Check out my other auctions for more hard-to-find vinyl!
