Groundhogs - Who Will Save The World? The Mighty Groundhogs

(United Artists Records UAG 29237 UK LP 1972)

This is a UK original LP pressing. It has a heavyweight gatefold sleeve. This has a fold-out part at the bottom of the front & rear part of the sleeve. The sleeve is printed on matt card. It comes with its original generic company "UA" paper inner sleeve. This advertises other LP's available at the time. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press A-1U/ B-1U matrix stampers. A genuine UK 1st pressing of this excellent early 1970's UK Prog-Rock-Blues LP.

Gatefold Sleeve: There is light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the top opening edges on some areas. There is some light or very mild rippling, or warping, at the top opening spine area. There is light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the front spine edge on some areas. There is some light fading to the spine too. The spine text is completely legible. It shows next to no rubbing wear. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good+ condition

Vinyl: There are light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Very Good+ condition. The labels are in Near Excellent condition & show light or very minor spindle wear. There is some light, very mild or very minor foxing on some areas. These can hardly be seen under a strong light. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & foxing on some areas. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is only really noticeable in the quieter places. There are a couple of areas of more moderate crackle. This doesn't last too long. The crackle does not overpower the music in any place. There are no noticeable clicks or pops.

This LP would definitely benefit from a professional deep down groove clean. Any crackle, in the main, is just due to deep down dirt in the grooves. This LP would, I believe, play at least Excellent & better after a professional deep down groove clean.
