MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original RCA Victor Records very first PROMOTIONAL STAMPED STEREO press released in Chile in 1977 by RCA Records, made and distributed by Industria De Radio Y Televisión S.A. Records (IRT Records), with traditional black/silver labels, white “RCA Victor” and colored dog logo, (original US) catalog number APL1-2317, with hand etched matrix numbers APL-1-2317-A MSM-CD in Side A and APL-1-2317-B MSM-CD in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides it’s written the date of pressing, “13-7-77” (July 13th of 1977). Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“OL’ WAYLON” was originally released in USA in 1977 and the same year we got it here in Chile. Like many cases of that period with and UNIQUE COVER!!! The cover is a thin non-laminated flipback cover made with a single piece of cardboard, with front cover pasted in the flip of back cover at top edge and back cover pasted on the flip of front cover at bottom edge. Front and back cover keep strictly the original US artwork. Front cover has album title and songs written only in English but in back cover the album title is written in English only and tracklist written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits written in English only!!! In labels the album title is written in both English and Spanish, the catalog numbers informed are the original US and Chilean, and the tracklist is written in Spanish only with full credits for songwriters only. As you can see this album has the rounded IRT Records stamp “DISCO PROMOCIONAL – PROHIBIDA SU VENTA” (PROMOTIONAL RECORD – SALE FORBIDDEN) in both back cover and label, Side B, even though in label it’s very hard to see but it’s over the word “Victor”. So, here you have the chance to own this great album by Waylon Jennings with UNIQUE COVER and PROMOTIONAL STAMPED PRESS!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX+ or NM- condition both the front and back cover, clean and clear, no missing parts, no writings, no creases, no rips, no blemishes, only some wear in edges and corners, no seam splits, no marks of any kind, only the PROMO stamp that you can see in the pictures. The record is in superb NM or NM+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, no scratches, no hairlines, not even scuffs, stunning condition. Labels on both sides are in NM- or NM condition, clean and clear, no writings, no marks of any kind, only the PROMO stamp, but it’s really hard to see at first sight. The sound is in absolute NM- or NM condition, loud, clear and clear, no background noise at all (background noise was normal in most of records pressed in Chile), only some very minimal occasional crackles here and there, hard to hear if you are not looking for them. Overall, a 46 years old record which has the evidence to have been played few times and with great care, still with a brand new-like glossy look and superb sound quality which will delight anyone from the beginning to the end. And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER!!! And don’t forget this is a PROMOTIONAL PRESS!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! WOW!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP18 for weight until 0,5kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl/sleeve)

GBP25 for weight 0,5-1kg (usually 2 to 5 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl/sleeve)

GBP12 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
