PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
I recently purchased a collection and hit Grand Funk gold! HUGE Grand Funk lot on vinyl and an 8-track!
1) Self Titled Debut 8-track - Father's Day is coming and what better way to make dad (or grandpa at this point) nostalgic for driving around and smokin doobs in the van than an 8-track of Grand Funk's debut. Duude, right?
2) Self Titled Debut LP - original Capitol green bullseye label gatefold pressing from 1969!!! LP is VG with a few light scuffs. Cover has some light wear on the left hand corners and is still in the original shrink wrap. Even has the original Sears (I think) price code sticker in the top right hand corner on the front!!!
3) Shinin' On LP - rare original first pressing on Capitol with detachable 3-D glasses completely intact on the front and rigid fold-out 3-D insert!!! LP is easily VG+, close to VG++, with a few light paper scuffs. Cover is a nice VG+ with a hint of ring.
4) Live Album LP - original Capitol green bullseye label gatefold pressing from 1970!!! LPs are VG++ with the exception of side 4, which is VG with 2 scuffs. Cover is a nice VG with a bit of ring.
5) Grand Funk Lives LP - Europadisc first pressing from 1981 on Full Moon with printed inner sleeve!!! LP side 1 is VG/VG+ with a small scuff on Good Times and side 2 is a beautiful VG++/NM-. Cover has a small bottom right hand corner promo notch and is still in the original shrink wrap.
6) Caught In The Act LP - Jacksonville pressing from 1975 on Capitol with oversized star hype sticker on the front!!! LPs are VG++ with a few light scuffs. Cover has a small promo hole in the top right hand corner that is covered with hype stickers and is still in the original shrink wrap. Even has the original $6.94 Deluxe Music (R.I.P.) price sticker on the front cover! A very nice copy with impeccable provenance.
7) Mark, Don & Mel LP - original 1972 Jacksonville pressing on Capitol with black labels and huge original poster!!! LPs are VG+/VG++ with a small scuff on side 4 that can be felt very lightly. Cover is VG+/VG++ with a hint of ring.
8) We're An American Band 45 - because no Grand Funk collection is complete without their signature tune. Vinyl is a beautiful VG++ with a few barely visible paper scuffs. Sleeve is VG+ with no splits or seams and a bit of ring.
Buying every item in this collection individually would cost $36.00 in shipping ALONE so don't sleep.
I USE GOLDMINE GRADING: MINT (SEALED)
NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++: VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE VG+: AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG: STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS
GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR: FILLER COPY ONLY. LOTS OF SCRATCHES
