NOVAK'S KAPELLE "Hypodermic Needle" b/w "Doing That Rhythm Thing" (Bachelor Archives BA-718)
Brand new limited edition vinyl 7"—only 500 copies pressed with bonus repro promo card!
Originating from Vienna, Austria in 1967, the blues prog psych combo Novak's Kapelle were formed by drummer Erwin Novak. Infamous for their wild live performances, they only produced 2 singles at the end of the 60s—this is the 1st, originally released on the Amadeo label in 1968. Noted on the sleeve as 'dedicated to Eric Burdon', "Hypodermic Needle" is basically a rewrite of the Animals' "Inside Looking Out", with some stinging fuzz and impassioned vocals. "Doing That Rhythm Thing" is slower, but still with a metric ton of fuzz and Hendrix-styled lazy vocals.
Brand new and unplayed, direct from the label.
