CAT STEVENS
SIDE 1: MUNDO SALVAJE
(Wild World)
SIDE B: EL TREN DE LA PAZ
(Peace Train)
WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Island Records very first Mono press released by Island Records, made and distributed in Venezuela by Polydor, S.A. (not credited) in 1972, catalog number 45-1407, with machine etched matrix numbers 451 A in Side A and 443 A in Side B, with traditional pink/black Island Records labels of the period, with big white “I” logo at left side and large center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from South America!!!
The first to say about this single is that as far as I know it was RELEASED IN VENEZUELA ONLY with these songs. In Side A it’s “Wild World”, originally released in USA in January 1971, with song “Miles From Nowhere” as Side B, and in Side B “Peace Train”, originally released in USA in September 1971, with song “Where Do The Children Play” as Side B. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for Cat Stevens as songwriter. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE VENEZUELAN VERY FIRST PRESS of this single by Cat Stevens, ONLY RELEASED IN VENEZUELA, a record almost never seen!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Cat Stevens and traditional Vocal Pop/Rock of the ‘70’s!!!
This record doesn’t come with a cover. The record is in nice VG- or VG condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs, soft hairlines and light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with some spindle hole wear, faint discoloration and age browning, some faint blemishes and the name of a past owner in both sides, with a dedication in Side A. The sound is in strong VG or even VG+ condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise, with constant soft crackles and occasional light clicks here and there, and in VG- or VG condition the Side B, with constant soft crackles and regular light clicks and pops, more evident in the first seconds of the song, which cause some distraction but the sound keeps loud and clear from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is still a nice record in this MEGARARE ORIGINAL VERY FIRST PRESS, with Spanish-written song titles and RELEASED ONLY IN VENEZUELA, for sure not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but a record with still a nice glossy look, clean and fully readable labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 51 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this single. Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

_________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like
new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only
some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the
sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or
poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there
is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which
doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or
creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays
no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and
the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra
items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has
noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The
cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits,
discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for
properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface
noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
