The Complete TOMMY DORSEY Volumes I-VII Bluebird lot in overall excellent condition. Encompassing the years 1935-1938, features seven 2LP sets in all. Each volume comes complete with its inner sleeves and holder, nothing missing!
Thomas Francis Dorsey Jr. (November 19, 1905 – November 26, 1956)[1] was an American jazz trombonist, composer, conductor and bandleader of the big band era. He was known as the "Sentimental Gentleman of Swing" because of his smooth-toned trombone playing.[2] His theme song was "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You". His technical skill on the trombone gave him renown among other musicians.[3] He was the younger brother of bandleader Jimmy Dorsey.[4] After Dorsey broke with his brother in the mid-1930s, he led an extremely successful band from the late 1930s into the 1950s. He is best remembered for standards such as "Opus One", "Song of India", "Marie", "On Treasure Island", and his biggest hit single, "I'll Never Smile Again".
Released by RCA Records between 1976-1981, these vinyl goldmines are long out of print & hard to find. In fact this is the ONLY LOT of SEVEN LISTED on eBAY!
I have visually inspected each and every LP side, and they ALL LOOK MINT! I can’t see any scratches or flaws whatsoever. Looks like they perhaps have only been played 1 time only.
…and Volume VII is in fact still in MINT CONDITION, STILL SEALED IN PLASTIC and thus quite a find indeed.
And while I know that some sellers are asking as much as $650.00 for just Volume II alone (see photo #12) (!!!), I’m starting the bidding at the very reasonable price of only $45.00 (that’s LESS than $7.00 per 2LP set!!!) with NO RESERVE!
