Collectors, here is a great disc, Edison Diamond Disc 51348, circa 1923. The American Concert Orchestra performs two pieces, the well-known Largo ("Going Home") from Dvorak's New World Symphony, and the famous Andante Cantabile by Tchaikovsky. Very nice arrangements and playing, very enjoyable. The New World symphony was written circa 1895, so this is almost new music when Edison released this record! As far as I can tell, neither piece was issued as a Blue Amberol cylinder record. The record plays well with some surface noise. There are minor edge chips, and the labels are glued tight to the record. Very scarce disc, impress your classical music loving friends, go for it!
