READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP 1965 MONO Rubber Soul First Pressing Decca in Shrink NM!

Many rare Beatles albums still in shrink listed this week.

Fun MONO Mix Fact:  In the song, “Norwegian Wood,” after the line, “She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere,” between the 3rd and 4th guitar strum, with headphones, you can hear someone, probably John, cough.  The STEREO version caught it and mixed it out.

Vinyl--- NM/ EX.  The only thing keeping Side 2 from a NM rating as well, is one very light line across the track, “Girl,” which needs a tilting toward a light source to find.  Beautiful platter!

Plates--- P7G/ T4G.  Labels are flat against the vinyl.  Concentric groove closer to the playhole come from Decca lathes.

Cover--- Excellent.  The cover almost looks brand new.  All seams are muscular-strong, no splits.  Not even almost.  Previous owner has taped the shrinkwrap down onto the cover.  The only issues therefore, is that there is some browning in the spots where the tape met the cover, and those areas are small ones.  The other issue is that there is some light yellowing down the mouth on the back cover only.  Small area of missing shrink on John’s breast pocket.

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover.  One is in the letter “O” in the word, “Soul,” the other is due east above Paul’s right eye.  There are two breathe holes on the back cover at the bottom, one below Paul’s chin and the other due east to the right of Ringo.

Labels--- NM/ NM.  Labels look absolutely 1965-brand new condition.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.  “The Beatles” doesn’t appear on the labels, making this a first pressing 1965 LP.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Original olive green Capitol inner sleeve is present and in VG condition.  Presents well, but two seams have splits about four inches long.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 3.

This is a superclean copy for your collection, or as a keeper gift for under the tree this year.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
