For sale is a beautiful example of rare soul 45 "My Heart Would Sing/Hey Little Way Out Girl," on the black and silver Sync 6 label, S-924-A/B. "S924A Bestway" with a backwards "73" etched in the dead wax on Side A. S924B with a backwards "73" etched in the dead wax on Side B. An original, first 1967 pressing. An as-new, NM example that plays flawlessly.
This comes directly from the collection of a Northern Virginian DJ who ran a radio station from his basement in the 1960s. His collection of 45s, which he stored in file cabinets each one with three rows of 45s, was heavy on small label soul, psych, latin soul and funk from around 1965-1969 and impeccably kept in the cabinets away from dust, moisture, etc. Much of it, like this, appears in unplayed condition. This was played once at least, by me, to test it, and it plays flawlessly. The vinyl rates NM, which is about as high as I go with my grading (see below). Realistically, as nice a copy of this rare 45 that is ever likely to come to market.
My grading system:
STILL SEALED : Jacket imperfections, if any, will be described. Vinyl guaranteed to be in unplayed condition.
M : I don't use this grade, on the assumption that no record or jacket is truly flawless.
M- : Vinyl appears unplayed, jacket bears no signs of wear. I rarely, if ever, use this grade.
NM : Like M-, with possible scintilla/whiff of an imperfection
VG++ : May have a couple extremely minor imperfections. (sleeve scuffs, very faint scratches or other superficial marks that have little or no bearing on sound.) Jacket may have a couple very minor flaws.
VG+ : Like VG++, but with a few more light imperfections
VG : Several light imperfections, and possibly one or two more serious ones, such as small feelable scratches. Still plays well.
VG- : Will display numerous minor imperfections and/or feelable scratches that affect playback quality. Between you and me, you could do better.
GOOD : What I consider pretty poor... numerous major imperfections. I generally don't sell items in this range unless they are of major significance.
