Beatles-Rel. 45 You’re Sixteen with Plate Autographed by Ringo!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
(This is relisted from some deadbeat who is now blocked, and with that said, on to our regularly-scheduled programme…)
As most fans know, Ringo decided to stop signing autographs for fans 15 years ago.
I was lucky enough to acquire this in the early 1990’s from an auction house in Philadelphia, who was liquidating items that were never paid for.
Ringo’s signature is 100% genuine and in blue ballpoint live ink. The entire package is sealed in a plastic baggie, so getting photos of the reflective quality of the ink was barely possible.
Instead, pay attention to the other tell-tale signs of live ink, which are that:
*the pen strokes fade out the further the strokes trail off,
*there are darker areas at the turnaround points where more ink is dispensed, and
*the speed at which the signature was created is uniform and not clumsy, most especially where the star is located between the names.
*Regarding Ringo’s signature from this period of time, look for the dot for his “I” very high up, sometimes inside the top of his “R.” (See compere photos.)
*This must have been signed sometime in the early to mid-90’s, before he abbreviated his signature to just his first name. (See compere photos.)
I don’t know why this item was created, but it may have been for one of the many charitable causes that Ringo has supported. This signature is written in Ringo’s better penmanship than usual.
Sleeve: N/A. The custom display consists of a cardboard tray with a purple sparkled sheet of foam in the inlay. Sealed in plastic.
Vinyl: 45 is glued down onto the foam. It’s therefore for display purposes only.
Label: The one that’s showing is NM. Purple Capitol label.
Plates: Z1. Winchester copy of the 45, for those interested!
You’re not going to get Ringo’s signature any other way, except to find one that’s already in existence.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
Check out my other auctions for more hard-to-find vinyl!
