READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP 1969 Help! Toughest “Subsidiary of…” Jacks, Old Scranton Label Template!

Most, but not all 1969 “Subsidiary of…” titles have counterparts that use the old Scranton label.  But by far, the toughest three titles are Sgt. Pepper, The Beatles’ Story and this one.    Both Los Angeles and Scranton had new templates made up for the then-new 1969 label variation.  Both featured much smaller text, as well as completely different font.  (See compere photos for each of them.)

The Jacksonville plant was the only one who used the original label’s layout, and it wasn’t even their own.  It was Scranton’s label design.

Try and find one, and see how long it takes!

Vinyl--- VG+/EX. Both sides shine like brand new.  However, each side has one very long, very light hairline, and a few scant other shorter ones.  I had to brighten them in the photos to get them to show up.

Plates--- W2/ W2.  (That reminds me, I have to do my taxes…)  Machine-stamped letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.

Cover--- VG.  The only thing keeping this cover from a VG+ rating is that the gatefold seam has a split a couple inches long.  Otherwise, the cover is fully intact with light dirtwear, light yellowing.

Labels--- NM/ NM.  NO spindle marks.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show.  Some foxing.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
