Beatles 10-Lot 45’s with Picture Sleeves, Nine First Pressing 45’s, Various Conditions!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
This lot features 45’s and picture sleeves in varying conditions. A good chance to fill in some holes and sell the rest!
She Loves You/I’ll Get You
Sleeve: VG-. Structurally solid, NO SPLITS. Light writing on both sides, typewriting on one side. Small tears and stains on one side.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: Very strong VG+. Just a hair under EX.
Labels: VG. No “Don’t Drop Out.” Both labels present well, but Side 1 label has a sticker removal bubble. Side 2 has a name written on it, black-on-black. Quotation marks around the titles. No “Produced by George Martin.” Early labels like this have Paul’s surname as “Mc Cartney.”
Plates: “Mastering Reco-Art Phila,” both sides. Large machine-stamped catalogue number makes this a first pressing.
I Want to Hold Your Hand/ I Saw Her Standing There
Sleeve: VG-. Los Angeles sleeve with the thumb tab. Many wrinkles, very small bottom center seam split. Small hole above Ringo’s head on thumb tab side.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: NM/EX. Los Angeles 1975 Apple reissue. The only one in this set without a first pressing 45. Side 1 looks unplayed, Side 2 has one light scuff.
Labels: NM/NM. “All rights reserved” disclaimer on both sides.
Plates: F12/ F12. Machine-stamped asterisk.
A Hard Day’s Night/ I Should Have Known Better
Sleeve: VG. Name written on one side, one-inch bottom center seam split.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: VG. Both sides have a moderate amount of light scratches only. Nothing that can be felt with the fingertip.
Labels: VG/EX. Rarer “Maclen Music” publishing, as opposed to the far more common “Unart Music Corporation & Maclen Music.” Widely-spaced band name, as opposed to the more common closely-spaced band name. (See compere photo.)
Side 1 label has a name written on it, otherwise EX.
Plates: P11/ T10. Much rarer Decca-consigned plates, with machine-stamped typewriter script.
I Feel Fine/ She’s a Woman
Sleeve: VG+/EX. Beautiful Los Angeles sleeve with the thumb tab. Moderate amount of wavies, but NO RINGWEAR, NO DIRTWEAR. Colorized dome in the Capitol logo. Most are white. Some are pink, some are blue. This one is pink.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: VG-/EX. Side 1 would have also been a beautiful EX, had it not been for some feelable scratches in one area. Too bad. Looks like a cat, a mutilating alien or both.
Labels: NM/NM.
Plates: F1/F1. Dead wax curiously has both the LA machine-stamped asterisk, as well as the hand-etched RCA-consigned logos on both sides.
Eight Days a Week/I Don’t Want to Spoil the Party
Sleeve: VG+. Scranton flat-cut. Beautiful, flat sleeve with the exception of a very light crease about 1/5th of the way down. Light record outdent. NO SPLITS. NO DIRTWEAR, NO RINGWEAR.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: EX/VG+. Beautiful vinyl, light lines only, and just a few.
Labels: NM/NM.
Plates: P1/T2. Machine-stamped “IAM” in triangle.
Act Naturally/ Yesterday
Sleeve: VG+. Scranton flat-cut. Beautiful, flat sleeve with the exception of light ringwear. NO SPLITS.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: EX/EX. Presents extremely well on both sides. Only a few extremely light lines per side.
Labels: NM/NM.
Plates: F5/F5. Machine-stamped “IAM” in triangle.
Help!/ I’m Down (and I Can’t Get Up!)
Sleeve: VG-. Scranton flat-cut. Lots of wrinkles. One side has writing in pencil. NO SPLITS.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: EX/EX. Almost a NM 45.
Labels: VG. Labels would be NM, except that there is writing on both sides.
Plates: F5/F3. Machine-stamped “IAM” in triangle.
Nowhere Man/ What Goes On
Sleeve: VG+. Scranton flat-cut. Presents very well, almost EX.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: VG. Lots of light scratches only, both sides. None are feelable.
Labels: VG/EX. Side 1 label is written on, otherwise also EX. No Starkey credit.
Plates: F3/F5. Machine-stamped “IAM” in triangle.
We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper
Sleeve: VG+. Scranton flat-cut. Presents very well, almost EX. Original price tag still present.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: VG-/VG-. A lot of light to moderate scratches, still playable.
Labels: VG/VG. General wear from father time.
Plates: T12G/T10G. Hand-etched Decca-consigned plates.
Hello Goodbye/ I Am the Walrus
Sleeve: Strong VG. Scranton flat-cut. Presents very well. One side has moderate ringwear, the other has very light ringwear. NO SPLITS.
A generic sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: VG+/VG+. Only a few very light and short scratches per side. Side 1 has a longer scuff.
Labels: VG+/VG+.
Plates: F17/F19. Machine-stamped letter “R” in the dead wax on both sides makes this an RCA-consigned pressing.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
