Description: Hoist is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Phish, origially released on March 29, 1994, by Elektra Records. At the time of its release, Hoist was Phish's best selling album to date, peaking at No. 34 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. On April 16, 2016 Record Store Day, Phish and JEMP Records will release Hoist, the band's fifth full-length studio album - for the first time on vinyl. The limited edition 2-LP vinyl set is 10,000 numbered copies. Hoist was recorded and mixed in 1993 by Ed Thacker and produced by Paul Fox, who incorporated guests and even some live tracks into the production. Elektra released Hoist March 29, 1994 on CD and cassette. In 2015, Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering cut the lacquers from 1/2" flat masters.
