READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP 1970 Apple Canadian First Pressing The Beatles Again Deep Groove, EX!

For sale this week are a few Canadian pressings in the mix.  Two of them are Apple deep groove first pressings, this one and Yellow Submarine.  There were two main pressing plants for Canadian discs.  The first were these deep groove discs with concentric labels similar to RCA consignments in this country.  The other had concentric grooves similar to Decca in this country.

The “Decca” concentric grooves had crisper high-end and greater detail in instruments like high-hat and acoustic guitar picking.  These “RCA” deep grooves have much richer back-to-front information.

And they’re harder to find.  All first pressing Apple titles had some copies pressed in small quantity with these deep grooves. But not all first pressing Canadian Apple copies had them!  The majority of these first pressings had the smaller concentric rings.

Compare them to U.S. pressings on good equipment.  You’ll hear the difference.

Vinyl--- NM/EX.  Side 1 looks great.  Nice and clean.  Side 2 has two or three soft scuffs in “Hey Jude,” which can’t be felt with the fingertip.

Plates--- Z37/ Z37.  Both sides have the “Bell Sound” machine stamp, as well as the “sf” initials.

Cover--- EX.  Very nice, heavy cardboard construction from the 1960’s.  Bright graphics, light ringwear.  Has the split dot at the top right corner.  Name written in ballpoint on the front cover beneath the split dot.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Labels look brand new.  Very high gloss, much higher than in the States.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: None.

Beautiful copy, rich sound!  May need to be cleaned.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
